A concept demo for the video game project To Ashes.


You are a plague doctor in the era of the Black Death, come to a town in its time of need. Your task is to heal the sick during the day and fight back the fog at night; but in times like these resources don’t last, and the inevitability of death looms ever closer...

Inspired by the choice-driven, mournful atmosphere of Papers Please and The Walking Dead, To Ashes forces players to confront the aftermath of their decisions by disabling backwards movement.


The rough demo of To Ashes was developed by a team of 5 over the span of several months. The game uses the Unity engine and is programmed in C#. As Producer for the project, my role was to articulate the game's mechanics and tone, and help in the production of assets.
